Today's mega scale, nanometer IC designs require that designers enlist the use of Intellectual Property (IP) products to ensure the fastest time to volume to remain ahead of the competition. Designers need a vast IP portfolio to address their different applications. This portfolio can include microcontrollers, microprocessors, DSPs, bus interfaces, memories and memory controllers, graphics processors, wired and wireless communication IPs and other general purpose IPs. Furthermore, IP vendors can choose to deliver these in soft or hard form depending on their product strategy and customer needs.
Magma Design Automation has been working with the industry leading IP providers to establish a strong alliance and provide comprehensive IP support through the MagmaTies IP Partnership Program. Products from these IP partners have gone thru the "Magma-Ready" support process to ensure that for:
Front-end synthesis support and/or reference methodology are created. Examples of Soft IPs are microprocessors, memory controllers and PCI Express controllers.
Industry standard views are qualified as ready to be used in the Magma design environment. Examples of Hard IPs are memory blocks, interface PHY blocks, PLLs, and any mixed signal IPs.
Partners in the MagmaTies IP program have access to the Magma design tools. The engineering teams develop infrastructure to support development and verification of Magma tool support to enable fast deployment of their IP products in customer IC designs.
Soft IP providers become "Magma-Ready" through providing:
Hard IP providers go through the following qualification procedure to be "Magma Ready":
